Election 08

Less than two weeks away and one of these men will be our new President.
Humor me, would ya?
Tell me who you're voting for (anonymously) on my "official" poll to the right.
I'm curious...

Ugh All I an say is that our schools will not be a pretty sight if McCain is elected. PLEASE look at all the issues. Please.

I've been really going back and forth on this. There are some things I really like about Obama, and some things I really like about McCain. But there are also things I dislike about both candidates, too.

My husband just mentioned this to a member of our ward, and he was literally made to feel like a sinner because he was considering voting for Obama! Then that person told another person and he was confronted about it again!

What is the deal with that? Why do we have to make a villain out of the person we're not voting for? I'm probably going to vote McCain, but that doesn't mean Obama is evil incarnate and the country is gonna go to heck if he wins.

I actually think we have two really good choices this time around.

I think I ruffled a few feathers with my post : ) I tried to comment on your last pot but it didn't work, such sweet pics of Carly and MEE. How neat, is all I have to say.

I am proud to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and a register democrat, in response to the earlier post by anonymous. The church does not support either party and always encourages it's members to look at all the issues and vote which ever way we feel is right.

My 3rd graders have been asking me since September who I will vote for. How I answer them is it's not my job to tell them what to think, but how to think and to think critically about what is important to them. What a fabulous country we live in and that we have the right to express ourselves.

I really can't understand why anyone would vote for Obama.

He will appoint justices that will change our laws on abortion and marriage. He will socialize medicine. Do you want to wait for 6 months to get a referral or a surgery??? He refuses to drill for oil so that our country can become self-reliant. He and the Democrats want to protect the "rights" of every single person who wants to come into the country - which will include America-hating terrorists.

Just because Obama presents himself well and is a smooth talker doesn't mean that he has good policies. Does anyone remember Bill Clinton? Smooth talker - turned out to be slimy?

In all fairness, McCain has his issues, too. However, when presented with two options, I am going to pick the one that stands conservative and is for capitalism.

Not too excited about this race. If we study the Constitution we can see that we are getting off the path overall.

Which comes closest to the Constitution? McCain. Which is closer to Socialism? Obama. For me there isn't a question.

umm sorry, but I don't understand those who seriously even consider Obama. All he has offered is "change" with no solutions or experience attached. Now don't get me wrong, McCain isn't exaclty the cat's meow himself, but somtimes you have to choose the best of two evils right?
P.S. I'm pretty sure Obama is being run by foreign governments, and not America-loving ones either. But don't quote me on that :)

I feel the same way Amanda does on the issues. However, that doesn't mean I think that McCain is a wonderful candidate. I disagree with some of his issues too. But, I feel he is the best candidate for out country and stands more for Democracy than Obama does. Obama really scares me. I fear if he is elected, it won't take but a couple of years before our country is headed down the socialist path. Once there, it will be a VERY hard journey back!

Honestly no matter who we vote for this country is going to he!! in a hang bag anyways. It will just go a lot slower with McCain. If you really think about it, it has been said that in the last days our constitution will be hanging by a thread. We know what is going to happen in these last days, so if you vote Obama or McCain we are headed for disaster either way. I am voting for McCain! I don't want a socialist running my country. Our ancestors fought so hard for us, and now we are all just throwing our rights away. Some of you may want to look a little closer.

OH MY GOSH!! Woah!! People sure are dooms day! yikes!!! I know who I'm voting for but it won't be the end of my world if he isn't elected! I think both candidates are pretty decent men. Man, there are some STRONG opinions out there! I usually avoid talking about politics because its those strong opinions that kinda bug me. Can't we just have a civil conversation and not attack?! Can't we all be brothers and sisters?! lol! I bet you did not expect all these fired up responses Rachel! Wow! I'm still chuckling!
