I love my Gram.

(Written to Grandma - Valentines Day - 2007)

I just wanted to wish you a spectacular Valentines Day.
You are so very special to me and I love you with all my heart.
Growing up, you were my best friend, my confidant.
I miss those days of cuddling up on your lap after my nap,
rocking in your chair with you while you watched Days.
I miss trying to guess where you hid my Vitamin B1 that day...
Was it crushed up in my sandwich? Or in my soup?? I never could tell.
I miss my half a sandwich and bowl of soup for lunch that you would prepare for us.
I miss playing outside down the street and hearing your voice call us in.
I miss you dancing in front of the tv during our shows to teach us what it felt like when we talked during your shows.
I miss singing Christmas carols with you that were printed in the newspaper. That was so special.
I miss playing Scrabble with you.
and of course... Kings in the Corner!
I miss playing Barbies underneath your dining table listening to you and Mom chat.
I miss Thanksgiving and Christmas in your house.
I miss playing "I Spy" with the ornaments on your Christmas tree.
I miss all those doll clothes you so lovingly hand sewed for us.
I miss you secretly saving up bread wrappers to help Mom pay for our Surprise Disneyland trip.
I miss your macaroni and cheese and your chicken and dumplings.
I miss your holding your hands.
I miss our Rose Kisses.
I mostly miss you and wish I was still next door.
Happy Valentines Day to one of my true loves.
♥ Rachel

I know just how you feel. Like you, I too grew up next door to my grandma and grandpa. She was and still is one of my best friends. Every spring we would look for the first buttercup and out in our backyard the other day I noticed we have buttercups blooming. I said to Sis, "Look, it's the first buttercup of the year" and thought of my grandma. Hugs to you!!

Rachel,
I love your Grandma and I don't even know her. She reminds my of my grandma so much. I hope everything works out for the best. I love you and my prayers are with you and your grandma.
