She's Here!

Our family is so excited to welcome into this world our new baby angel.
Baby #4 (still without a name) was born:
Friday April 18
12:36pm
Weighing in at.....
(sit down for this)
12 lb. 3.4 oz!!
22 1/4 inches long
14 in. head
We are still in the hospital, most likely coming home Sunday. Because of baby's size, they are closely monitoring her blood sugar levels and rapid breathing. All is well, though.
She is beautiful and we are so in love with her.
Thank you to our many visitors. You've brightened our days.
More pics to come after we return home.
For your viewing pleasure, here is a video of the moment they weighed baby.
NOTE the nurse's comment at the tail end of the video, "I would've said nobody did this vaginally." Well I have news for you, lady!
(remember to pause music before viewing)

40 VERY much appreciated comments:

We went and saw Becky later on yesturday and little Kailey, weighing it at 7 pounds 9 ounces. What a difference a few pounds makes at this stage. She is perfect, I love her little profile and all of her hair, her cute chubby cheeks, and all of her cute little chub roles. She is wonderful and I am so excited that she is here. Congratulations, I love you!!! And I love this sweet spirit you brought into the world.

Oh my! 12.34...very cool! How wonderful! I know how thrilled you are to have her here, and to have such an accomplishment in doing so safely (no small task)! I'm so very happy for you. Thank you for putting the video up for us so we can get a peek!

I hope you heal well, and get lots and lots of rest! I'm so very impressed! Please, stay in your bathrobe for many days and put your feet up! I'm not sure I know anyone that has worked so hard carrying around a little bundle of joy as you have! (and, I DID pray she'd be smaller, but apparently that wasn't His will...just mine!)

I told my dr at my appt today about you and baby girl and he was SHOCKED! He was like "I've NEVER heard of a baby that big being born naturally, she must have really good baby hips!" LOL! Love you!

Jessica said...

What? But she looks so tiny! =)

I have NEVER in my life heard of a baby bigger than my bro in law (12 lbs. even) till now. AMAZING. (My MIL always said, "When I was done, I felt like I'd delivered a truck. They asked if I wanted to hold him and I said, 'NO! I just got rid of him!'")

OH my oh my oh my! Ok, so I am so happy for you to have such an adorably, thankfully healthy little gal! But 12.34-girl, you are beyond champion here for this one! Oh my! I really think you have got to be something else. MY biggest of congrats!

Congratulations Rachel! Your sweet little (not) angel baby weighed more than my twin boys combined at birth!
I'm so glad you left me a comment. I would see you you leaving comments on practically everyones blogs that I know and think how in the world does she know everyone I know?? We have met before and you are memoriably the nicest person I have ever met! And pretty much everyone I know will confirm that...since they know you too!
Anyway, best of wishes to you and your new addition and I will be checking in often for updates.
