Family Tubing Day

Two days before Christmas, the whole { H } clan - local at least - headed up to the snow to do some tubing on the Autobahn. HOLY FUN!
I was a bit worried about my tailbone (Dec.3 I took a good spill and it's still sore) but once we got up there and I saw there was no impact on your rear end, I decided to go for it. AND GLAD I DID! What a blast!
The day couldn't have been any better. The sun was bright. The snow was compacted just right to slide fast! And my kiddos stayed warm. What more could we ask for?

What A Blessing

Oh, what a happy day.

We blessed Delaney on Sunday.

A blessing in our church is similar to a dedication or christening in other churches. The baby is held in a circle and given her name (Delaney Katherine H) and a sweet blessing by her father. Martin blessed Delaney with such wonderful things, several of which are:

  to know how much she is loved by her parents and siblings and the rest of her family


• 
  
  to be able to feel the Spirit so she will know what Heavenly Father wants her to know for her to be in tune to Him


• 
  
  to challenge herself in learning; to expand her knowledge


• 
  
  with a desire to serve; to serve Heavenly Father


• 
  
  encouraged her to to the extra mile; to give of her friendship to those around her


• 
  
  with the desire to marry; to marry in the House of the Lord to someone who'll be willing to give the Lord the same level of commitment that she'll have


• 
  
  with strength through tough times that are before her and to grow strong through every trial

...this and so much more.

A sweet lady in our ward took notes during the blessing and typed them up for us. Bless her heart. Thank you, Eve.

Dinner with Grandma and Grandpa

Sunday night, Grandma and Grandpa came to dinner. We had such a nice evening before they left on their "Road Trip". We played Apples to Apples (my favorite lately!!), Grandpa kicked around with Christian with Uno cards, and Grandma listened to the girls plunk on the piano. It was so cozy and happy and comfortable. We love them!

Congratulations to my wonderful in laws as they celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary this weekend. What an accomplishment!

We spent Thursday evening with them at Izzy's for dinner (yummers!) and then headed out to their house for games. We had the perfect evening celebrating with them.

In 40 years of marriage, they've accomplished ALOT...
